Hot Pepper Cornbread
You can control the heat in this recipe with the type of peppers you use.
Ingredients
3 C. corn meal
2 eggs beaten
1/2 C. vegetable oil
1 C. buttermilk
1 (10 oz) can of cream corn
3 jalapeno peppers, chopped fine or 1 red hot pepper and 2 banana peppers chopped fine
1 medium onion grated
1/4 C. cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- Mix first 5 ingredients well.
- Stir in chopped peppers.
- Add onions and cheese.
- Grease a hot pan and pour in batter.
- Bake at 400 degrees until done. Approx. 30 - 40 minutes.
