Hot Pepper Cornbread

Hot Pepper Cornbread

You can control the heat in this recipe with the type of peppers you use.

Ingredients

  • 3 C. corn meal

  • 2 eggs beaten

  • 1/2 C. vegetable oil

  • 1 C. buttermilk

  • 1 (10 oz) can of cream corn

  • 3 jalapeno peppers, chopped fine or 1 red hot pepper and 2 banana peppers chopped fine

  • 1 medium onion grated

  • 1/4 C. cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Mix first 5 ingredients well.
  3. Stir in chopped peppers.
  4. Add onions and cheese.
  5. Grease a hot pan and pour in batter.
  6. Bake at 400 degrees until done.  Approx. 30 - 40 minutes.
